  • Just like my last note though it's not quite as fresh as it was a year ago.

  • Opened well chilled.Lovely ultra-pale red, er, pink. Aromas of Rocks and flowers. On the palate, Kaboom!, nice acidic bite with more stones. After warming up, hints of strawberry and melon on the nose, and the palate opens up with melon, jasmine, strawberry, minerals and a touch of smoke, all the while retaining crispness. This is the best example of the 2009 that I've had. Unfortunately, my last bottle too! Excellent. On the rose scale, Outstanding.

  • Lovely, weighty rose--though not in the color or in the fruit profile, so I am left grasping for a way to describe why it feels so substantial in the mouth. Aromas of watermelon and strawberry, faint and very alluring. Then dry strawberry and melon notes in the flavors, with lots of minerality and a mouthfilling quality that stands up well to spicier food like buffalo chicken wings.

  • As others have mentioned, this has a cloudy watermelon complexion in the glass, due to the fact that it's unfiltered. The nose is rich with watermelon, strawberry, and citrus. This is surprisingly full-bodied on the palate, trading a certain amount of lushness for the crispness I generally associated with a rose. Nice balance of sweetness and acidity going on. Paired well with harissa chicken off the grill, and I imagine it would go with a wide range of summertime fare. Even though this is a rose, I'm going to say it has good to great QPR at the $12 I got it for. I'm going to get a few more bottles.

  • Cloudy bright strawberry color (it does clearly state unfiltered on the label, so no surprises). I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand it is a good wine. It is rich with sweet strawberry fruit and nice earthiness to it. On the other hand, it is a little bit heavier than I typically like my rose - it does taste more like a red wine with good acidity and freshness. The alcohol is a little bit noticeable on the finish. Medium length and not a ton of complexity, but this one is structured so I can see it getting better with some cellar time. My parents absolutely loved it, so I think this will go well with the masses.
