What a difference a bottle ( or cork ) makes. Had a bottle of the same equally well and long cellared and it showed poorly - brown ruby, thin and tomato juicy - this one bright clear med ruby w smoked meat and tomato on nose and palate; bright acids and moderately stiff closing tannins. Still not a monument but pleasantly much better than last bottle.

Dinner for our special guest Eric. Needed a bigger wine to go with my "famous" brisket...good excuse to check in on this. Splash decant, drank over 2 hours.
Medium red/garnet color. Earthy nose: herbs, underbrush, truffles...a lot going on. Plate of red fruits, dark cherry, Asian spices, orange peel (we tried to describe/maybe off...?). Smooth mouthfeel, elegant texture. Finishes long
This has aged nicely, not as big as I remember it years back. Tannins smooth and resolved, more elegant, secondary notes really interesting. Great wine from Kongsgaard, still drinking well. I don't think this improves much from here, but still has some shelf life. Will likely drink remaining bottles in next 3 years

This may have been a bit over the hill at this point. Showed plum and other dark fruit, but was very one dimensional. Felt like it was a bit flat and simplistic. Definitely not worth what I paid. Drink it up now or I think you'll regret it.

Superb - still very very drinkable - the 2002 less so - could have been a bottle difference (most likely) or the 2002 still needs time - tight/tannic
