Start of my b-day week, enjoyed this easy Listrac – of course, not as elegant as most terroirs in the ‘hood, but I find them delightful.
Blend of Cab, Merlot & 5% PV.
Opens with a nose of blackberry, cedar, vanilla & a whisk of smoke. Palate of red currant, dark berries, toasted bread & graphite. Silky tannins on a smoky finish.
I never expect major complexity, but enjoy the good structure & mouthfeel.

So much medicinal cherry flavor. Very enjoyable with some age. Not enough depth to the fruit to recommend holding much longer. Would be pleased anytime to find this kind of rich, rounded flavor and balance in a wine at this price. Great value.

I opened another one. The initial taste is odd: sweetish and cheaply appealing, rather flat. But it developed during the first day. I left the bottle open over night, recorked and had the rest the next night. Pleasant and tasty to drink now. Dark and medium-to-full-bodied. Dark berries. Not tannic: so I don’t know whether this wine will last many more years. It may be close to its peak. But it is a reasonably decent and enjoyable wine now, if you let it air for a while. I won’t pour my remaining bottles into the drain as I thought I might do two years ago. I am looking forward to opening the next one. But who knows: perhaps I will change my mind then.

Tried three "inexpensive Bordeaux" over a week. This was definitely Evi's favorite.
