Took a while to get going - flavors were: earthy, ripe dark cherry fruit with plenty of spice galore. 09 vintage here for sure - ripe, deep pitched fruit. A bit tight, not quite ready, still needs a bit more time.

Slow-oxed for 2hrs, I found this really excellent. Medium ruby. Nose of dark berries, with hints of black truffle. On the palate, silky texture with a mouth-coating ending: juicy red fruit (especially cherries) core, turning spicy and later salty, with a rather fascinating constant aftertaste of ashes. Delicate yet dense; could fancy that somehow a bit more intense still, but that's about it. The vintage notwithstanding, there is no concern to be had regarding overripeness, in my view. Admittedly mostly primary still, but with tertiary notes emerging already, and in any case utterly delicious and compelling on its own terms right now. (That being said, this is clearly bound to get more complex hence better if you can keep your hands off your remaining bottles for another while.) Also, now at least, remarkable versatility for food pairing; this proves able to pick on really many things. 93-94

This was delicious; compared to the 2011 that I had last year this was definitely a bit riper, but still had very good balance; definitely better concentration and the finish was long. Still with plenty of upside as this was mostly primary.
