Faint nose of red berries and some tar (I guess). Nice mouthfeel, with bright and nicely balanced acidity. Good with food. Surprisingly, this was better 2 days later… smoother with a stronger tar component on the nose. Finish was lacking, though better on the third day.

Nose is rich with tar and roses (almost as if it were a nebbiolo!) Palate is still the same leathery and tarry quality. Actually still getting better. Perhaps this should have been held longer. A surprise in longevity!

This wine really moved up in quality over the past few months. The nose is deep and rich with berries and earth. The palate is leathery and slightly tarry and chocolately -- a really delicious barbera.
