  • Drank at Copake last weekend. Fruit is fading, color on the brownish side. Still, was an interesting pour as to the mix of remaining fruit and good acidity level, and nice minerality. Aged better than expected

  • Although I extolled the age-worthiness of Pouilly Fuisse in my last TN, I am afraid that time has caught up with this bottle. Not turned, but clearly past is prime at least for me. You could taste the age as in too much age. Oh well.

  • Really nice bottle, better than the one I had 6 years ago. Nicely aged, no signs of breaking up. Smooth, excellent balance of fruit and acid. Benefited from a little breathing, also quite solid the next day. I think the sense is that Pouilly-Fuisse does not age that well. My experience, across a few vintages and producers, is quite the opposite. Most seem to age quite well -- at least up to 10 years.

  • A decent bottle for certain. I am not a big PF fan, and I bought this wine following a strong recommendation in the NY Times. Tanzer noted that it went through full malo, but you would not (or I did not) catch that. Pretty lean. Maybe a year or so might help.

  • nose: great nose filled with creamy lemon tones, minerals, fresh tropical fruits, and some tart green apple tones. Really nice depth that I normally don't get from Pouilly Fuisse's with well balanced tones that work great together

taste: lighter bodied with cream tones, vanilla mousse, meringue, lemons and mineral tones. Unfortunetly not as deep on the palate as on the nose, but really good nonetheless

overall: an excellent Pouilly Fuisse with a really great nose. Maybe with a slight bit of time the palate will catch up, but that said, this is still a great buy for ~$20. There is a lot to like with it, and there is some nice medium acidity to it along with a tasty cream attack and mineral based finish
