  • Such a beautiful golden apricot color in the glass. The nose is slightly oxidative with notes of butterscotch, honey, marzipan, almonds, apricots and pineapple. Not surprisingly, the palate echoes the nose with a nicely rounded palate and medium bodied richness offset by the right amount of acid. Really a wine that has aged well and is likely in its peak drinking window.
Appreciation to P.C. For the share.

  • Winebar [3 Whites & 6 Reds] from 8/11/17: N: Toast, almost a carmelized note, poss butterscotchy? Lemons as it opens?

P: MF, poss Med, body; RNDISH entry with almost swtish oak (notably atop the frt) nicely off-set by acidity, this package slowly morphing into a LONG, butterscotchy, ult very slightly honied finish. For aficionados of oak, but with elegance. Given the acidity, should drink into if not through '19. 13% ABV. 89 pts WE @ $39. [While it's HIGHLY doubtful this vendor still has any of this @ $19.95, April 2018's wine-searcher still shows a vendor offering it for $24.99.]

  • Lively bouquet, showing gooseberry, white currant, and spring flowers. Bright and crisp plate, tangy, refreshing. Substantive finish. 89-90.

  • 2014 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): Straw-colored and highly aromatic, this wine offers aromas of assorted tropical fruits, as well as nice mineral and honeysuckle components. Light-bodied and somewhat round for a white Burgundy, it follows with ripe banana, coconut, pineapple and wet stone flavors. The wine’s alcohol (listed as 13%) is nicely integrated and there is no detectable oak. Staying fruity and supple throughout the middle, it closes with a medium-length finish. If tasted blind, I would have guessed this wine to be a Central Coast Chardonnay from California. Despite this atypicality, it is quite drinkable and I suspect that it will have broad appeal. Drink now-2018.
