My last bottle, popped and sipped. Amazing how this wine has improved since my first tasting way back in 4/07. Nose is cherries and a hint of leather or earth. On the palate, nice balance between the fruit, some heat and very soft tannins. Finish is excellent and pretty long, maybe the best thing about the wine. I have some decanting for dinner and will see how it goes.

Not wonderful, merely very good. It's a Merlot: supposed to be tender, mild, unobtrusive, and is. Let breath a bit, not too long or it becomes very flat, and you will be rewarded by herbaceousness, neutral acidity, no astringency, and a lush mouth-feel.

Dark burgundy, arguably the darkest merlot I've drank. A rather bland aroma, so decanting is a must at this point, though I let the bottle breathe for about 30 minutes as I can't consume but so much. A nice strong palate of cherries, and a hint of blackberry and oak. The wine passes my palate just as quickly as I can swallow.
If stored properly, I wouldn't say this wine is past it's peak, or if it is, it's peak wasn't much better than it is now.
