style note: Succulent, juicy blend of red and black grapes (think checkerboard) tickle the palate on this well-balanced old world wine touched with a hint of vanilla (older oak maturation) and fruit such as blackberries (blueberries? maybe later). Very smooth and even, a good match for lamb.
