I can't decide if I like this wine. I got an odd explosion of a spicy vanilla on the finish. I don't know if it's the Russian River spice or oak or what it is. There's bright cherry on the attack and mid palate and a little bit of that Russian River Valley cola Still some tannins, so this wine has a few years left to age. But that sudden shift at the finish is a little odd. It reminds of driving down a freshly-paved rural Nevada highway, with pristine black top and bright yellow road striping, and then suddenly hitting a dirt road. Maybe it needs a few more years in the cellar to iron out the wrinkles.

I bought a case of this 3 years ago after having a bottle at a wonderful restaurant south of Mendocino while on vacation. Just one bottle left and I've enjoyed the other 11 - very food friendly. Just a hint of oak and a fantastic nose - howI think a PN should be. Feel it's hit it's cellaring potential, so the last one will be gone before year-end.

Cork broke on opening. Decanted three hours, moderate sediment
Blows away my ideas about aging capability of California pinot
Dark, into tertiary flavours, still some cherry, great with stilton

Still drinking beautifully. We let it decant for an hour. Floral and fruits on the palate, balanced with light tannins.

A wonderful surprise -evenly balanced Nose had cherries and thorneberries. A slight pepper and smoke finish. The table could not say enough about it
