Opened one hour prior tasting. Great condition, better then my previous bottle. Slightly bitter, but otherwise mellowed to a warm and comforting pleasantness.

60% Grenache, 40% Syrah, very old vines (80 years). Bought at the winery years ago and stored in cool cellar. The color is dark with thin watery rim. The age is detectable in the nose also - calm, but generous with sweet cooked notes. The palate shows 14,5% alcohol, but not overwhelming, integrated. Still fresh acidity and smooth but firm tannins. Best with rich food like duck or game.

Nose: not very pleasant. Thin, metallic, lacks fruit. Taste: completely different. Warm sensation because of high alcohol level, liquorice, laurel, firm tannins combined with soft acidity, good length

Primary cherries in the bouquet as well as the taste. Good juicy and ripe fruits with a touch of sweetness. Pleasant garrigue. Round tannin. A very good wine, but in this stage not really exclusive. Give it 3 or 4 years of cellaring so it can show some more complexity. 88+

Good, bit garrigue. Tannins are round, didn't need decanting.
