Piss yellow. Nose initially was old/oxidized but with a few hours in it, decanter it open up well. Hints of fresh oregano, Just the nearest sense of citrus. But in the mouth it tasted solely like pineapple juice an interesting showing for a 13-year-Old California Sauvignon Blanc. Drink up.

A nice Sauv Blanc, which I usually try to avoid. This is one of the SBs I find palatable! Nose is nicely perfumed with white flowers and citrus notes, Palate showed poached pear, some citrus (mostly lemon notes with some orange pith) and slight melon notes with hints of sea shell. Very nice! 91 points for my palate.
Monthly Tasting Group: Bordeaux and Cabs 2009 and Older (Chez Dalluge, MN): Light gold plus color. Drank a glass over 30 minutes. Saline, swampy earthy and citrusy palate, melon, earth, good breadth and a little buttery caramel as well. This was too warm on serving, but it struck much more positively than a bottle a few months ago.

Life is a Cabernet! Zoom Tasting: Wines were all double decanted to remove sediment around 1:00 pm and poured into individual mason jars for transport. Jars were stored in cellar until transport time at ~4:30 and then poured into glasses for tasting at 6:00-8:30. The theme was Cabernet and Cabernet Blends. Wines tasted were as follows:
All wines showed well, no dogs here! Group's top three, in order: 1. 2012 Castello; 2. 2012 Raymond; and 3. 2005 Aphrodite. My order was as follows: 1. 2012 Castello; 2. 2009 Gruaud Larose; 3. (Tie) between 2012 Raymond and 2005 Aphrodite.
2010 Araujo Estate Sauvignon Blanc Eisele Vineyard - Another very good bottle! This one showed a little more citrus than the last bottle, but overall, a well-balanced very nice Sauvignon Blanc. Stone fruit, citrus and minerality dominated the nose and palate. Consistent with prior note. 90 Points

There was some initial alcohol that mostly blew off with 20 minutes air. This was served blind and I thought it had Semillon in it, because it had a rich mouthfeel and golden fruit. I don't drink much 10 year old sauvignon blanc, so I could be wrong, but it tasted like this had seen some new oak. I also suspect it was probably better 5 years ago.
