Only the slightest of bricking at this stage. There is quite a spicy aroma with some cinnamon and white pepper, aniseed and a hint of bacon. It's quite viscous on the tongue with some blueberry jam, white pepper and cinnamon again, along with black tea. This was consumed over 4 days and it took until the fourth day for an astringent note that reminded me of the tannins in over-brewed strong black tea to fade enough to not be a distraction. At this stage it is solid enough but a bit simple and not quite in balance. I'll likely give this a few more years before I try another one.

tasted on 8 Feb 2024 Very deep, dark red/purple color, solid cork, slightly thick/good viscosity and light sediment. This is a solid wine with too many bold and distinct flavors. I would recommend letting it age another 15-20 years to smooth out some of the sharpness and allow the contrasting flavors to mix and mellow out. I think that this could be a 90-92 point wine in 15-20 years, it just isn't there yet.
The front starts with bitter floral, black currant and dark chocolate. The middle has a lot of contrasting flavors, mostly rich dark berries, earthy floral, chocolate and coffee. Cheeks are a sour black cherry and bitter dark chocolate. The finish is a smooth and lightly floral flavor.

Wonderful vintage port at it sweets spot. Terrific balance. Nose is oddly alcoholic on first whiff but opens to wild cherry, raisin, chocolate and wonderful balance between fruit and alcohol. This to me is all about complexity and balance. There are richer more alcoholic and likely longer lived ports from this vintage but right now I doubt I would enjoy them more.

(WARRE'S VINTAGE PORT) #1; NOSE-very different, like new world Syrah, dark cherry, strawberry, jammy, not as much chocolate; TASTE-very complex, much more wine weight, more complex refined finish, long finish, (tastes cheese), WORLD CLASS, don't drink now, in 20 years you will be laughing at what you paid, great investment; WA(Pierre Rovani)-93, GV-95

Wonderful maraschino cherry and milk chocolate notes. Perfect with death by chocolate dessert cake.
