  • shared with pat at selkirk manor. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. have been following this wine since 2016. some earlier bottles showed awkwardly. others had come together and were showing nice fruit, balance and structure. i am writing this note one year after tasting and not having tatken any formal written notes for current bottle, i am at a loss to recall details. i do remember this bottle as presenting better than most of those previously tasted. this wine is made by a reputable and reliable producer. each bottle that i have had has been enjoyable in its own way. significant sedimentation. bottle had to be decanted and strained. overall, it showed well. fully mature. no need to wait any longer to enjoy this wine.

  • 9 year old, very well made Malbec. Dark plum jam, ripe black cherry, leather, pipe tobacco, smoke, THIS is how Malbec should be enjoyed!

  • last tasted on 4/7/2017. shared this bottle with pat at selkirk manor. PnP to check on the wine's development. the wine has held up well over the past year. earlier tastings had found the wine to be in an awkward stage. this bottle is in a better place. no prune-like qualities this time. fruit is vibrant and generous. firm structure. will probably continue to improve with further bottle age. this is a better than average malbec from a reliable producer. no need to rush drinking remaining bottles. will try another one near the end of the year.
