A complex, tropical, floral wine. Pineapple and hints of vanilla on the nose, with lots of citrus, some coconut on the palate, and a slightly spicy finish. I really enjoyed this wine. I'm not well versed in Sémillon's, but I paired with some a simple, oven baked, salmon, and it went together perfectly.

Medium body. On the nose: oyster shell, minerality, and key lime. On the palate: minerals, melon, citrus, ripe peach skin, and stonefruit. Great complexity on the midpalate and medium finish. Resembles a Semillon more than it did two years ago, when it was rounder and more voluptuous. Best between 45-90 minutes upon opening. Would be great with sweet crab. Consume at room temperature.

Terroirist Blogger Tasting #3: SRP: $20. Incredibly seductive nose of lemon drops, lemon curd, fresh white peaches, and a hint of sweet, tropical fruits (mango & melon), and a hint of gray rock. Soft and well-balanced, with some super cool salinity at the finish. A fantastic wine.

Popped and poured. Medium-light gold hue. Aromas of fresh cut grass, honey-lemon, green apple skin, and stoney minerals. Medium-light body. Very nice palate of mineral-laden stone fruits...think peaches along with a touch of apple and pear. Stays bright with moderate-plus acidity on the close...would pair great with many different foods. Just a really good bottle of WA Semillon and an exceptional QPR at that.

Pale transparent gold. Aromatics of spiced pear and florals. Light to medium bodied. This shows like a dialed back Viognier or Roussanne. Some underripe banana, green apple and light citrus. Medium acidity and finish.

(Amavi Cellars Sémillon Walla Walla Valley) An aromatically compelling wine with light spices, touches of pineapple, mango, and straw. The palate is textured and full, shimmering with intensity of melon and citrus flavors. An incredibly long, vibrant finish. Among my favorites from the 2010 vintage. 88% Sémillon, 12% Sauvignon Blanc. Les Collines, Seven Hills, and Goff vineyards. Aged in neutral French oak. 13.9% alcohol. 612 cases produced. Sample provided by winery.
