Good filling but cork felt apart. Decanted throught a small mesh and served. Cleared but just a bit of bricking. Nice nose of cranberry and some leather. Fruit still very present in the mouth, silky with tannins all gone and some acidity to sustain the whole with pleasure for a good length. Quite good and ready.

After a horizontal tasting of the actual Stag's Leap collection (2month ago, in my favourite restaurant "Blaue Donau"), I decided to fetch my old SL bottle from the cellar... Good decision, the wine is at it's best. :) Give this wine some time, mine was best after three hours uncorked but not decanted. Here you go: elegant, still good for 1-3 years, typical, balanced.

Filling in w/the Sunday Brown Bag Group (Rich's & Dana's): Has a vibrant ruby core, showing a little age at the meniscus. Notes of perfumed red fruit and cranberry. Lighter, elegant mouthfeel and fully integrated. Cherry and red currant flavors; hints of leather. Finishes nicely. 89-90 pts.

Still a very nice bottle of wine but this bottle was leaning a little more towards being tired compared to the bottle I had 4 months ago. Acidity was a bit higher, the fruit a little more muted and mouth feel a little thinner.

What an incredibly beautiful bottle of 18 year old wine. Typical old school Napa with some vegetal tones and Stags perfume tones. I was dinking this with a good friend, so there wasn’t full attention given to this bottle, but it stood out and over some 2004’s had as well. So glad to have 1 more in the cellar of this wine.
