Good. However, given the provenance of the wine (directly from estate) and the fact that it was from magnum, I expected it to be epic. Maybe the wine was never epic... Earthy, red fruit driven, and with significant brett. Fruit is mostly dried out at this point.

Quite a bricking rim showing its age; Strong vegetal evolved aromas on the nose. Still quite intense and vibrant. Some cranberry fruits evident. Mushrooms, cloves, spices. Very rich; absolutely delicious palate. Still shows admirable concentration and huge reserves of complex flavour. Lovely elegance and a real pleasure at 31 years of age.

On a similar level like Clos Vougeot 1959/last for next another 5 years.
