Nice wine just lacking a bit of interest, particularly on the finish. I had the 2016 recently which I much preferred. For me there are many alternatives at this price range that are far better.

Better than my last bottle. Good, solid bordeaux from a good/great vintage. I think this wine drinks better younger. I was much more enthralled with the 2015 in recent times.

(From 375ml bottle - oh, and the cork crumbled!! ) Decanted for an hour. An intense ruby , a little fading at the rim, with glycerous legs. A classic nose of sweet violets , dry pencil shavings, blueberries and mulberries, cassis, hints of menthol and leather , spicy anise, and lighter fruit - maybe strawberries. Smooth and silky on the palate, there is a delightfully chewy interplay of cedary cassis, sour plums and cinnamon,a mouthwatering balance of fruit and acidity , with backnotes of tannin. There is a long finish of chocolate and cocoa. Classic claret, and ,certainly in this format , ripe, delicious ,and ready to drink. No hurry though.

Decanted for 3 hours before pouring
A little closed on the nose but great, tasty fruit on the palate. Damson and plum.
Subtle tannic finish of decent length.
Limited tertiary tastes to begin with but maybe some chocolate notes arrive over time.
Feels like a very well put together wine. Everything pulls together rather wonderfully.
Elegant stuff.
