TTTG Blind (North by Northwest) (ER): Horse's ass on the nose (and not the good kind!) to go with rubber and band aids. Palate shows some sweet cherry fruit if you can get past the other issues. Blind, had no idea what this was except bad and hopefully flawed.

A lot of tobacco and dried fruit on the nose. Tobacco and cherries on the palate, as well. Some licorice on the finish. Still feels full and round. Well balanced, but past its prime. Compared with 2000 Gevrey-Chambertain 1er Cru from Jadot. Served with Salmon marinated in soy/lime/Chinese five-spice and saute of onion, fennel, bell pepper, mushrooms and bok choy. Both worked really well with the food. No clear winner in the pairing, but the Ken Wright was more distinctive.

Started off very nice. Earthy herbs with a hint of spice. But on the second Fay became overly rich and extracted for my taste. But will be a crowd pleaser!

Bucking recent Ken Wright trends (they've all been really bad) this wine was a treasure. Nice red fruits, bold earthy flavors - this is what Ken Wright used to be (if you've got the "old label" stuff you know what I mean).

Retained more fruit than similarly-aged KW's I've had. Some nice earthy tones along with dark red berries.
