George brought a magnum bottle at home for the customary Friday's dinner with Costas, Vassilis and Marilena. Pale yellow color. Scents of butter, peanut butter, nuts, pears and minerals. Medium to full bodied with medium acidity and flavors of pears, hazelnuts, mushrooms (esp. porcini), gravels, powder milk and fresh cucumber. A touch of lime also. The finish had a bitterness and lasts about 22 sec. Ideal pairing for sauted scallops with garlic and saffron.

North Rhône Offline (Rotisserie Jules, South Kensington): A bright, open nose, though a touch stinky. Very concentrated palate with rich stone fruit and pear flavours. Very rich. I'd guess it was a relatively young white Hermitage. very Good Indeed.

Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chicago, IL): Very accessible and open, but surprisingly lighter styled for Hermitage blanc. Good balance, moderate weight.

Over developed, oxidised nose with background notes of honey and minerals. Medium body, low acidity, lacking fruit, cheesy/leesy notes. Past it.
