Dark ruby turning crimson at the rim with a nose of smoke, spice and dried meat. The palate is full-bodied, dry and bright in acidity. Flavors of currant, blackberry, bloody meat, spice and darkly-toasted oak. Elegantly balanced and has a distinctly Old World charm. I tasted this blind and would never have guessed this to be Australian Cabernet. Finishes long and smoky with fleshy tannins. Very good stuff. Drink now until 2024. 94+

GrandCuvee - Cabernets: Northern vs Southern Hemisphere (The Botanic, Raffles City): Deep ruby. Very hot alcohol nose, with blackberry and raspberry, and some cocoa. High flavour intensity, and moderate tannins and acidity, and very heaty. Blackberry, cassis, grass, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and grilled meats. Nice one!
