  • The best $9.00 wine I ever had. For whatever reason, the Kroger store near my home has this wine on sale as a closeout. They claim the regular price is about $16. Frankly, I'd easily pay the 16 bucks for this wine that drinks like a $25+ Italian red. I'm going back to Kroger to buy the remaining 8 bottles I saw on the the shelf. The wine is fruit-forward, with medium finish. No after-taste on my uneducated palate. Beautiful dark ruby color. I had half the bottle with a spicy pasta dish the first night and with some excellent cheese (Robusto at Whole Foods) the next night. This wine would probably cellar for another year or two, but it is certainly ready to drink right now...

  • Full flavour, sweet red berries and cherries, but a nice bitterness in the mid-palate and a lively acidity cause that the wine not gets jammy...
    Good finish, god QPR

  • Ox blood red with purple reflex. On first impression the nose comes along pretty fresh for a Ripasso: Cranberries and cherries up front, while some herbal and roast notes pair with a hint of meat and very light touches of vanilla in the second layer. The wine starts of Ripasso-like with rather sweet aromas of dried berries but quickly adds a very animating acidity of morello cherries. On the mid palate the spice and slight bitter notes start kicking in which lead the wine into a medium length finish while always remaining very luscious the whole time. Great with your basic tomato pasta and very good QPR (around 6-7€ here in Germany).

  • The way a wine for enjoying should be. Don't need anything else tonight.
