Cherry, pomegranate, cranberry, rhubarb, herbs, loam, and minerals. Piercing acidity, generous, balanced, and long. The whole package! I would be happy to sit at any table graced by this wine.

PnP, at a restaurant. A rather weak showing of Valpolicella ripasso -- reasonable showing of Valpolicella, but not much ripasso. A bit of red fruit, lots of earth, some spice. No evidence of dried fruits or raisins.

N: Cherries, poss blk rasps, with undertones of pyrazines?
P: Med body; RNDISH entry with nice, ALMOST swtish frt (threshold R.S.?) met by an astringent pucker which DOES lose its bite by the LONG, poss very, VERY slightly faint finish with some quasi-bitter flatness. Otherwise nice, the finish disappoints. 13.5% ABV; My VG-, poss VG-/VG. 87 pts WE @ $19. [This vendor's $12.95 puts it in the top quartile of wine-searcher's listings.]

Nice and smooth blend. Not particularly outstanding, but very drinkable and pairs well with Italian food.

As others have stated a little more muted than I would expect from a Ripasso. Still a solid wine. Paired very well with a risotto.
