  • Just wow - surely this is showing at its best now. Pale golden straw, but a huge nose of flowers, apples, pears, grass and lemon, that just begs you to hurry up and taste. Bright and rich on the palate, with the fruit almost imparting sweetness, and the acid carrying an extremely long finish (almost a minute?) bursting with citrus and apple cider.

  • Pale gold in color. Poured right away, but I waited a few minutes for the initial nose to settle, and was left with a sort of floral, herbal, minerality on the nose. Acid and minerals led the first taste, with the fruit and oak coming in afterwards. Finish rather dominated by oak.

  • tasted at the domaine; this was bottled with diam; a bit richer and rounder lemon than the '21 with more complex blend of orchard fruits and some spice; ginger and peach on the palate, but a vibrancy that belies its age; the finish is long and pure

  • Queue de paon ce soir. Tout est là, poli en cave, tendu comme une corde de violon, aucune fausse note, beaucoup de grâce dans sa palette florale, minérale, fruitée, subtilement herbacée, très homogène, long…
    A son apogée.
    Excellent!

  • 12 years later resulted in a very positive evolution for this bottle, although I can only imagine what it would have been like drinking this too young. No decanting needed, popped the cork, used bottle stopper right away and kept chilled until dinner time. Upon pouring into a larger and wider glass, elegant aromas of lemon, pith, flowers and zest permeated the entire glass, I think the floral aromas were more dominant. On the palate, notable aromatic bitterness in the mid palate and good acidity, but a heavier slant of bitter lemon sour and or a notable tartness. Not surprisingly, an excellent pairing with spring seasonal Hokkaido cherry salmon sushi. smoked mackeral, and fatty tuna. A very enjoyable wine right at this moment.
