Lush blueberry compote with deep concentration and yet soft. Deep within, it is cedar laden and the oak spice is so intricately woven into the cuve that its hard to take apart. A brooding 90 second finish that lingers on and on and keeps tricking your senses. For me, there is no better wine to describe California Cult. It's Colgin...Drink

Purple and completely opaque, this was a fully mature wine. Very pronounced sweet nose of cassis and lavender, slight herbal qualities. Medium-full bodied, the sweet but rich cassis flavors coat the palate, have some elegance, with no apparent tannin, perfectly balanced. My first impression was actually a Belle Glos pinot noir, which is also noticeably sweet but very tasty and approachable. I would have thought this Colgin to be more dark and still have some tannin, but its sweetness, soft and round character, lack of noticeable tannin was a pleasant surprise. Ric

"Riff" menu (Restaurant Michael Winnetka IL): This is a baby as we served this side by side with a '70 Chapoutier La Sizeranne. Deep brooding color, great aroma, good palate feel and the potential to age.

Really a spectacular wine; so many nuanced flavors all in perfect harmony; soft tannin and a loooooooong finish.
