  • Just a great bottle of wine drunk at the perfect time in the perfect setting with the perfect meal. Very classic chianti taste...earth, wood, and just enough chewy tannins left to make it stand up to the soft shell crabs in a lemon caper sauce. Really a delightful combo. Made me miss Italy. I really feel like this bottle was at its peak. Ten years old, beautiful color and nice nose.

  • Lots of spicy fruit with medium oak. Good with veal.

  • Surprisingly pleasant Chianti. Typical cherry nose. The tannins are nicely integrated. Is at its peak or slightly above. Soft on the palate and pleasantly long in the finish with some cream and caramel.

  • Anyway, upon opening it smelled and tasted like pure oak. Maybe if I was going to pair it with twigs it would match. Let's say I came this close to dumping it. I'm soooo glad I didn't! About an hour and half later it came around.

However, the nose remains fairly faint giving off aromas of cherry, spice, earth, and oak. The color is dark ruby turning rusty toward the edges. Rasberry jam with touches of blackberry and beef flavors give way to a chewy spicey oak dominated finish.
