Full disclosure, it is possible that this was a defective bottle.
Deep purple ruby color, nose of tobacco, cedar, and off aromas of stewed prune, on the palate, oxidized, flavors of over ripe plum, wet cardboard, and raspberry, low acidity medium body, wine tastes cooked, either improperly stored or just past its prime.

Basically agree with the other reviews -- this is still quite tannic and astringent relative to where it ideally should be -- for $14 (not Costco on my purchase) this is still good QPR. It does settle with air. I would agree that the fruit taste is buried, present, but not as strong as would be the case for a higher end wine.

Fantastic value, a totally serviceable claret. Forward fruit, good terroir. Good age into a 90 point wine in 3-5 years? Try it with a burger with melted blue cheese. COSCO strikes again!
