  • This has come along FAR better than the last bottle 8yrs ago...not the grapey, sour acid bomb..it has softened to a wonderful plush sheen, still showing a bright tartness of cherry and cranberry...very pretty red berry fruit ala a Chassagne rouge...SILKY and smooth...mineral crunch, strawberry field earth tones...dried roses, red licorice, and subtle sandalwood florals. Still drinks super youthful and bright...much more interesting than in its youth. Wish I had more now!

  • Strange wine. This simplest of Burgundies, meant for drinking young, was to my taste completely unpalatable in its youth, extremely acidic and very tannic. Now, at age 7, it starts to open up. The colour is still bright red, in the taste the Gamay is very much present with a menthol element.

  • Couple things...1) how do you pronounce Passetoutgrains? 2) I'm one who doesn't like the fact of a Burgundy "blend". Goes against what the terroir is all about? That said....this PTG is just ok. More enjoyable drinking the producer here......starts out grapey with the Gamay showing....little arm pit funk, sour blackberry, plum cherry.....pretty tight, not giving up much but just a faint rose and cherry spice. Nice silky feel....good crunch of some mineral and fruit.....little heat and tartness in the finish. Not much diff day two...wonder if some age will do it better? Ok drink...but wish it were more.
    Anyone fans of PTG?
