On the pour, the wine looked and smelled incredibly young. No bricking, nose smelled of black fruit, earth, some minerality. Palate at first seemed to highlight the silky, darker notes from the Bordeaux varietals, but taking air, the grenache/earthy, garrigue notes jumped out. Very good, probably has a few more years left. Cellar kept since purchase.

Mature and lovely. Nice tar, mineral, black cherry, tobacco, plum, and earth. Balanced and complex. Not nearly as impressive as the 2001, but still a wonderful bottle. nice mid-palate and finish. layered and seamless. Didnt really show its stuff for about 5 hours in the decanter. fabulous.

T. Edward Wines Fall 2006 Portfolio Tasting (New York City): Deep ruby color. Funky nose, with barnyardy, dry herb and stone elements. On the palate it is quite intense, but needs time to come together.
