All Elderton wines I find to be such a good affort to age them but sometimes it seems they will age forever. I loved this blend and drunk it next to a Penfolds 407 1997 which was already on its downhill and the Elderton was so strong, structured and textured. Very good wine.

Red burgundy with a pink rim and a brown tinged peach small outer rim. Nose of plum, earth tones, wet stone. After sitting in the decanter for over an hour, the barnyard funk blew off and the taste was very balanced and pleasant. Notes of cherry, vanilla, high acidity, mushroom, and a medium finish made this a nice, aged bottle to drink. This improved drastically while in the decanter.

Was rated poorest by 1 person in a six person blind tasting of 4 similar type wines. It was rated first by none. The wine was very soft and smooth. This came through on the nose and the taste. Very enjoyable, but not "classic". I do not think it will improve a lot with additional aging.

Copious amounts of sweet chocolate and spice. had not maintained its acidity or freshness at all. flat and cloying, definetely past its prime i never had it in its youth, but i would imagine it lacked the acidity and tannins necessary for aging. oops
