  Good bottle. Cork in pristine shape, ullage great.
  
  Beautifully mellowed cabernet blend. Striking aromatics which I smell as soon as I decant the inky, deep purple goodness - sweet blackcurrant/ribena on the nose. Plums, blackberry & licorice; soft in the mouth with some cedar/graphite on the finish.
  
  Not massively complex by any means, but very enjoyable. Has come together very nicely.
  
  Expectations of a 20 year old wine not met.
  
  Surprised at how fresh the bottle is, expecting the wine to have faded somewhat and having more secondary characteristics to the fore, which just aren't there.
  
  Is this really a 20 year old wine?
  
  Very good drinking, ageist expectations aside.
