This was in great shape though I felt potentially a little past prime. Lovely nose of dr. pepper, cassis, mint, and sous-bois. Cedar, fennel, baked plum, clay, and peppercorn. Medium acidity. Nice length.

Still has good red and black fruit up front, depth in the core, a lick of that acidity left. Some tertiary notes but not as many as we expected from a 20+ year old CA syrah. Yum!

Hard to get past the mouth puckering acidity. Is this what you old world guys crave? A savory wine underneath, for sure, but out of balance for my palate.

This wine is at its peak from our cellar. Nose of blackberry, forest floor and earth, balanced palate with resolved tannins and unobtrusive acidity, palate of dark fruit and spice. Excellent. Drink with pleasure.

Dark purple. Nose of brambles, pepper, licorice, blackberry. Lots of life on the palate with pepper, moca, black plum, leather, and iodine. Nicely acidic, tannins still structured. Finish somewhat diffuse. Slightly hot. Falling off a bit.
