Dark and brooding come to mind. A little barnyard on the nose with dark, ripe fruits. On the palate blackberry, fig, and chocolate with a spic core and ample tannins bring up the rear. Think we paid $14 recently and for that it is a buy.

39/33/16/11/1 Grenache/Mourvedre/Counoise/Cinsault/Syrah. Light color, slight touch of ruddy red on the edge. Nose of light red fruit. Palette jumps with sweet spice, light black fruit, tannins are a surprise for the color. Lots of layers I'm not naming and value is excellent.

More French in style that what I would have expected from CA. Nose of dark fruits, plum, fig and blueberries, black cherry with a raisin core and some cooking spice. It is very dry on the palate, which threw me off. Over all a very good wine and a good finish.

I found this wine to be pedestrian. No epiphany here. It just sat on the tongue.

Overall a very nice drinking wine. The blend works well with food, specifically italian food. Will drink again.
