  • Beautiful nose on pop'n'pour. Earth, spice, tar, leather, flowers--a bit of everything Nebbiolo has to offer, on the feminine side. Med/high acidity, light/med body, light tannin. Tart/juicy red fruit flavors, progresses nicely to a light spice and tar finish typical of Nebbiolo. Very quaffable, yet also deep, Burgundian one might say. This was best at opening and became less interesting with air, probably not one to age long-term but it won't fall apart due to the freshness.

  • High altitude Nebbiolo. This is absolutely lovely. Shows wonderful distinction with a palate of pretty red fruits, tobacco and minerals. Light and elegant, almost like a Pinot, yet the fruit is slightly bitter. Excellent acidity that makes it versatile at the table. I wonder how this will age. Great surprise. At Downtown Grocery in Ludlow with the family. Ready for skiing to tomorrow.

  • Transparent ruby color, going lighter at the edges (not bricking yet with clear meniscus). Earthy nose of leather, tar, soil, wet leaves, and some dark red and dried black fruit. Very light bodied with tart red fruits (lots of cranberry) and really bright acidity from the pop to an hour or so over pizza, which worked well, and transitioning to dark red fruits (plum and black cherry) and building to a more medium body, and better integrated acid. Medium finish and enough tannin for some structure, but lip-smackingly quaffable. Fun wine.

  • 16-20 months in botti, 1 year in bottle before release. Aromatic, floral, red fruits and tobacco. Elegant, refined, smooth fine tannin, well balanced. Mid weight.
