  • The cork here was a bit of a disaster, I suspect this bottle might have stood on its base for several years (decades)?
    12 hours slow ox.
    Dark garnet terracotta.
    Very beautiful nose of sweet confection, vanilla, cherry liqueur and exotic spices such as sandalwood.
    Bright red fruits on the palate, rose, mandarin, chinotto and sopressa like charcuterie. Drying astringent wood tannins still very prominent initially but faded with time. Bright acidity and quite long. Gorgeous nose, and overall not bad considering the vintage reputation.
