Nydelig!

Wow. Served blind, one sniffy-sniff and there was clearly only one place in the world this could be from - Tasmania. OK, Piedmont. At first I thought is was from a modernist, but quickly narrowed ny guess to 1988-1990 Barolo, and a traditional producer. To the astonishment of my friend who opened it, I said Conterno. Even a blind squirrel... Anyway, classic tar and roses, this is drinking EXTREMELY well, tannins still there, this will probably go another 5-10 years before beginning to crack. Killer.

MEDIUM RUBY with some sediment cloudiness. TAR, ROSES, AND ODDLY A BIT OF COCOA. rich and supple on the palate, with some meaty deep notes, more roses and tar and deceptively firm tannins. At peak. Excellent but paling in its company. 90 pts

This was sensational! Perfectly aged - totally smooth, fruit blended wonderfully. No bite at the end. This was a wonderful work of art!
