Took a while to open, initial bouquet of red fruit then earthy and berry taste. Quite elegant once it got going, this is still a bit young and needs a couple of more years at least.

Nice open , a bit mild chambolle, nose. Nice fruit and earth with elegance and balance. Shame the palate is flattish.Maybe we should have left it to breath more but it lacked life. Maybe not there yet.

On the nose, very agreable wine with soft notes of red fruits which ends with earthy/autumn leaves note. In mouth, the wine has quite a strong start with heavy fruit and tanins before mellowing into a long subtle earthy finish which is distinctive of excellent burgundies that have aged well. Overall very much enjoyed but the bottle could still age another 2-3 years at least.

Still very young, but this is an excellent wine in the making. Balanced, with solid tannins supporting ripe, earthy fruit. Nice minerality, and a very long finish. I would wait at least until 2010 before opening another bottle.

(Domaine de la Vougeraie Vougeot 1er Cru "Les Cras") This wine was dense, rich and powerful with loads of dark red and black fruits. Not much elegance here but no lack of power.
