Drukket på Marianne sin 40-års dag. Fløyelsemyk og meget elegant. Av de to flaskene jeg har hatt av denne var denne flasken den beste. Fortsatt var det en fruktighet i bakgunnen og vinen var ikke for mye preget av alderen.

The kork went off quite easy, even if it ended in two pieces. The kork is in good condition after so many years.
The color is light red, with some shades of brown. The wine smells of blackcurrant (juice), plum and a little bit of wet forest floor.
Not decanted. Some acid in the start, more weight and fullness towards the finish. Long finish. The blackcurrant smell is confirmed in the taste.
To homemade italien pizza. OK, but better without food. A little bit to light for the tastes in the food. Most of the wine in the bottle was drunk after the pizza was finished.
After a couple of hours and some air, the wine is more heavy and have more body just after entering the mouth. The wine is rounder than just after opening of the bottle. The wine has improved and tastes more.
Heavy sediment in the bottom of the bottle.
The wine is surprisingly good and fresh after so many years in the bottle. One of the better mature wines I have tasted. Impressed of the wine.

Smells of leather, tar, sweet meats, black olive tapenade and beef stock. It is full and vinous in the mouth with some mint and wild sage nuance (fucked if I really know the difference in smells of the wild and cultured versions of sage). It gets a little chocolatey in the glass and is a very tasty wine with good character.
Madeirized nose at first, but opened up to some interesting tertiary notes of damp earth, mushrooms, and an hour later olive tapenade and honey. In the mouth it was balanced, very soft and silky, with a medium finish.
