2/3 Cabernet Sauvignon and 1/3 Syrah from the cooler part of Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation Aged in oak for over 18 months. Nose initially on Syrah, a bit of reduction, Blackberry fruit. In time it opens up, leather notes, licorice, then to Cabernet Cassis notes. The palate is ripe and structured. Present tannins still but perfectly integrated. Finishes on a minty tanic note. Paired excellent with beef onglet.

Interesting blend of syrah and cabernet sauvignon from Provence. Dark berries, dark chocolate and licorice on the palate. Needed about 2 hours to open. This is a 2011 - I think it should have waited 3-5 more years in the cellar. Would drink again.

A magnum of the 2011 drunk in the Provencal sun in September 2013 was a fantastically enjoyable bottle (setting assisted perhaps), but in bottle format a year later this is losing structure and seems to be offputtingly sweeter.......

A likeable wine. Lots of structure and rich flavor spectrum. Licorice and some green hints. Dark fruit backed by acidity and tannin in balance.
