Not my normal style, but beautifully made Cabernet with lots of concentration and intensity. Nothing overripe here, but it's quite full bodied and assertive. Heaps of blackcurrant fruit and spice, there's a great backbone of acidity and some rather supple tannin. Nice medium finish. Susana Balbo is indeed a great winemaker, but I always get her stamp on the wine rather than that of the terroir.

Impressive for sub-$20 wine. Demonstrates the quality of offerings coming from Argentina. Berries and flowers upfront, medium balance for cab (note 10% malbec), smooth finish. Not complex: just solid all the way through.

This is a really nice example of the goodness available from Chile when you jump up to the mid $20 price range. This one has had the advantage of a few extra years of bottle age that only helps it's approachability. Extremely dark purple color. Upgraded, refined nose of vanilla, oak, mature buttery blueberry and plum. Intense, sophisticated palate of deep, rich black fruit. Totally coats the roof of the mouth with French oak enhanced, buttery blueberry and mulberry. Mature refined acidity and tannins. Very long, lingering finish of vanilla blueberry pie.

Nothing special; mellow cab but taste all merlot. Had Tilia cab last week: better at half the cost.
