interesting wine with strong white stone fruit flavors but not sweet. There is in a certain rigid taste that needs air or time to resolve or just a phase and not sure if that's oak or malo described below...will leave the last bottle to see what time brings
This is an outstanding Roussanne. My favourite Californian Roussanne and to be honest I prefer this to Beaucastel's Vieilles Vignes. Classic nose, long, long finish. Beginning to drink well but will last.
A fun toe-dip into one of these to see what's happening. Smells like buttered popcorn, with very little sense of what's underneath. A little airtime reveals pretty, crunchy green fruit typical of Roussanne, with beeswax and spice. It won't kill you to open one if you have a few, but hopefully time will mellow the malo.
A stunning wine. Four of us guys sort left the wives to champagne and treated this like nectar of the gods. :) Glad to be on the Alban list. Yellow/gold. This opened in glasses as we twirled and commented at the changing nose and flavor profile. Elegant, structured, peach, pear, apple, light lemon, all offset by a wonderful minerality. Beautiful finish went on and on. Only 1 bottle left. :(
