  • Color: medium/dark yellow verging on gold. Wow; unbelievable nose of oak and stewed, totally oxidized, madeirized and unappetizing fruit. Completely shot. Either way, way over the hill or a badly abused bottle. Such a shame. Purchased at auction about a year ago . . . YMMV!

  • Alban Vineyards Tasting 1993-2009 (Buzzini House): This bottle is showing absolutely stunning! After about 3+hrs opened...wonderful exotic hot buttered rum spice, smoky match strike, butterscotch....ripe peach, apricot fruit, slight sour skin....balanced well with GREAT citrus acidity and minerals to hold it all together. Best showing of this I've ever had.

  • Dark golden yellow in color. Huge nose of funky, hazelnutty, sweet pear/apricot, match strike, buttered popcorn, vanilla oak. Still intense with citrus acid.....but creamed up nicely with ripe pear/fig/apricot fruit; smoky match strike, hazelnut, butterscotch, almond oil, flint, honey butter, spice, vanilla creme oak, slight sourness. Total Alban Terroir!!!! Great Vineyard Terroir......reminds me of the Syrah, the Grenache, the Viognier.....! Can go further in the cellar.
