Nez assez intense, complexe et envoûtant, mêlant notes animales, florales, minérales... Bouche très fine mais bien structurée, droite et parfaitement équilibrée. Persistence moyenne. Un simple village pour un grand pinot noir.

Half-bottle. Dark and violet in appearance, the colour is miles away from the 06 Jadot served before this. Obvious oak on the nose, some dark berry kind of fruit buried under it. Very structured, with fine tight tannins and acidity to match, but there seems to be good fruit content as well. All in all, this is not a village wine to drink young, but a fairly serious (in good and bad) wine meant to be aged. Not pleasant at the moment, but potentially fine by the end of the decade.

From half-bottle. Medium-deep red ruby, clear. Some reduction upon opening gives a fine mix with the underlying oak and fruit. As the reduction dissipates the oak tends to dominate for a good two hours - it's a fine oak, spicy, not toasted, but with a sweet note. Still, it is too strong, even on the palate. After about three hours it integrates better with the underlying fruit, which is mainly raspberries and cherries, but doesn't really go away. The palate has beautiful freshness and, forgetting the oak for a moment, fine fruit. Tannins are very fine-grained, but a bit drying. I would be curious to taste it again tomorrow, but with a half-bottle, this was not an option... At the moment the oak is too dominating, but if it integrates it could become fine. **
