New Burgundy Releases-Mostly 2012s (Beltramo's, Menlo Park): Ruby. Nose is all earth, menthol, and some funk. Light bodied, some distant fruit that is hard to pin down, green, underripe finish. This does flesh out a bit in the glass but lacks fruit and is dominated by soil and herbs. Curious performance for a 2010-it did not seem that the problem was caused by it being closed currently.

Sweet red fruit, delicate red floral, sweet baking spice, more finesse and "pretty" than the village on the nose; Sweet on the front palate, sharp med + acidity. Super delicate, really pleasant drinker, not a lot of complexity. For lighter Burgundian cuisine.

This is consider to be their most, or rather youngest drinking of the village levels. More expressive of cherry fruit and less sous bois then the village gevery. Brighter fruit, maybe a bit more "exposed" across the palate. Vivid and pretty.

Nose of cherry, hint of ash, leather; light bodied, wooded cherry, steady, long finish
