Pale to mid straw. Good grip on the attack. A slightly waxy, mid to fullish weight with stone fruit and a touch of ciustard apple. Nice texture upfront. Lacks med palate complexity or much interest on the finish. Solid, but hardly exciting. ***1/2

Colour is light golden and seems fine for its age. Lime green melon and conference pear on the nose. Medium bodied with fresh acidity and a core of succulent fruit. Not on the mineral side and perhaps a little loose and slightly flabby. Previous bottle had better focus depth and concentration. Still very nice but not a memory to treasure.

Burgundy Wimps 2023 - Hôtel Frédéric Carrion table (La Trompette): Another good showing from this wine. Bigger and broader on the nose than the other two whites, with a touch of savour and something gently lactic. Glorious texture, an excellent balance of acidity, and a crisp, stony finish. My favourite white today - would happily have drunk several more glasses!

Hooray, a sound bottle. A very refined wine, with some lemon fruit and plenty of salinity, almost marine perhaps, although you probably wouldn't mistake this for a Chablis given its relatively rounded acidity. Lovely, cosseting finish. Completely ready, but I think (for my palate) maybe would have been even better with another couple of years of development.
