Opened in the morning for dinner that day. Poured a little out and let it slow ox until I decanted it about two hours before the meal. It definitely needed the air. It was very tannic with muted flavors until after the decant. On the nose, tart cherry, dried mint and tobacco. Same on the palate plus some dusty earth. It was enjoyable with a beef and mushroom stew but didn't wow me. Somehow not quite balanced.
