23 Feb 2020 Colour looked brownish red...and nose was not distinctive...however wine opened up nicely after 20-30 mins. Colour turned red, very balanced but not very fruity...light for a Barolo...nice finish and easy to drink...finish is medium...perhaps more enjoyable when younger...

Marchesi di Barolo Winery Visit (Marchesi di Barolo Winery in Barolo): Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of vanilla oak, iron minerality, earth, and red fruit. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavor intensity, with flavours of vanilla oak, sour red cherries, redcurrant, iron minerality, earth, and spice. Long finish. Very good quality Barolo. Will continue to improve over the next 10 years. Modern style Barolo with 20-25% aged in French oak barriques.

Pretty Barolo bouquet, with a strong mineral edge. Stalwart palate, well-structured. Leans toward the modern in style. Some distracting heat shows on the nose and palate. Seems like it could deliver a little more with time.

Nase: Tertäre Noten (Tobako, Holz). Recht leicht für einen Barolo. Vermutlich schon etwas zu alt

Still in its youth in my opinion. Will last 10 years longer in the cellar at least.
