  • After a 3h decant, opened up with a lovely bouquet of dark Cherry, cigar box/tobacco, sweet Xmas spice, chocolate and plum. On the palate, supple rounded flavours of plum, dark cherry, earth, violets and vanilla. Medium acid and medium tannin, balanced and long. Lovely pairing with slow roast lamb.

  • Coravin'd a glass several nights ago, pulled the cork and hooked up to a nitro canister this evening.

Purchased last year at the winery for a very reasonable $28. Light breaking on the edges, barnyard funk on the nose. Reasonably well balanced but with fading tannins this is lean with old red plum and dark cherry the most prominent flavors. This is pleasant and enjoyable but on the downside… Time to pull the cork and enjoy.

  • Fully integrated with nice red and black fruity flavours that all hit the palate together, accompanied by earthy notes, licorice, tobacco...
Nothing is standing out and that creates a soft mouth feel and no drying finish as the tannins are all instantly present in full support of the structure. Good balance in acidic and sweet notes with aromatic florals making this a very friendly glass of Saint Emilion. The finish is decent in length.
Chateau de Pressac always uses all 5 varieties allowed in the Saint Emilion Grand Cru appellation for this, their first wine, and does a selection of the grapes after picking and not based on the vinyard plot.

  • Drinking beautifully right out of the bottle. Plenty of red fruit, well balanced, great mouthfeel.
