Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2012-08; Southern Rhône (by RvR and AdJ): A lot of oak in the bouquet, but also blood, bacon, cherries, pepper and leather. Same in the taste. Very concentrated sweet fruit juice, balanced by good acidity. Raisins. Firm amount of mild tannin and bitterness. A lot of everything. Already accessible, but this can last at least another 5+ years. Some might say this is a wine made in the cellar and not in the vineyard. If you're a Burgundy lover this is probably not your style.

Decanted for 2+ hours. A dark colored wine with a nice nose of blackberry, oak, black pepper and graphite following through on the mouth. Nice tannins kept the full-bodied mouth in check. Yes, it is a more modern styled wine but it still showed the CdP terrior characteristics you would expect.

Shows a beautiful deep dark color. Delivering notes of freshly ripened black and blue fruits, crème de cassis, exotic spices, pepper, mineral and toasted oak. This is full-bodied and supple, supported by polished tannins that guide the fruit into the long explosive finish. An excellent expression of Syrah. (Drink 2013-2020) - 92+ POINTS
