  • Drinking at its full potential now! A wine ready to drink with little or no decant. A great balance of tannin, acidity and body with a presence of dark fruit and pepper. Wonderful on a chilly fall evening with food (such as chili, chips & queso.

  • shared with pat at selkirk manor. celebrating the end of the work week and surviving another week of SIP (sip in place/stay in place) due to covid-19. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. ct drink by date is shorter than projections of other memebers and the wine maker. nevertheless, lacking recent feedback, could not take a chance. no formal notes. the wine proved to be in sound condition and, in fact, showed very well. i like this wine better than available pro review. it is a shame that they drink the wine young and never come back to it to see how it develops. of course, i am probably influenced by a halo effect due to the memory of attending many wine dinners with george hendry present. i initially tasted this wine in 2013 and was impressed with elegance as opposed to raciness. i have the same impression tonite although there is some herbaceusness. will take more careful notes when enjoying my last bottle.

  • Definitely mature but not whacked,
Oak integration is there, super ridge still-
    Amazing really, still young thou.
Fruit is prevalent, oak and tannins creeping in.
    All in all good juice.
    Nice effort-
    Drink now w/decant thru 2025

  • A bottle I had in June, 2017 was too tannic. This one was just right. So-so nose leads to big flavors on the palate. Mixed red and black fruits, with a hint of tobacco that became more prominent over the course of a couple hours. Mouthfilling fruit, with a medium body, but a rather ordinary finish. Terrific right now with fatty foods, but still quite tannic. Will probably stay at or near its peak for another two or three years.
